Hypotheses

  1. Typically revisions are made in scenes toward the end of the plays.
  2. Typically revisions are made in speeches by the main protagonists -- Hamlet in Ham, King Henry V in H5, Lear in Lr, Marcus Andronicus in Tit.
  3. H5 revisions are mostly additions (Q<F so Q-F is negative -- blue).
  4. In the other plays the balance of additions and deletions is more even.
  5. There was a significant omission in the folio of Lr in scene 13 (Q>F so Q-F is positive -- red) -- the "mock trial".
